Robert Harper is a professional musician that's currently busy as a Session Bassist, Solo Recording Artist, Music Instructor, and Music Product Marketer. He is known for his funky infectious grooves which he lends to various Indie-Artists throughout the DMV (D.C., Maryland, Virginia,) area. He studied electric bass guitar and upright double bass at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California with Oskar Cartaya, Bob Magnusson, Jeff Berlin, Tim Bogart, guest instructors Louis Johnson, and Nathan East. Privately on his own time Robert has studied with jazz/fusion bassist Bunny Brunel & jazz guitarist/bassist Frank Potenza. Television and Radio appearances have included the variety show "In The House" filmed at the (Downey Cable Network) in Downey, California and an in-depth interview with song play at (KPCC Radio) in Pasadena, California. He has played with Louis Johnson (The Brothers Johnson), Robert Wilson (The GapBand), and R&B crooners (The California Executives) amongst others. He's also shared the stage with former Disney Mouseketeer, Actress, and Christian soul vocal artist Raquel Herring. 

Robert's funky style, high visibility, energetic personality, along with his keen sense of social media marketing have garnered him endorsements from various companies such as: Paul Lairat Basses, GR Bass Amplification, Gallistrings, Cordial Cables, Morley Pedals, D&A Guitar Gear, EMG Pickups, RapcoHorizon Accessories, ENKI Cases, Fishman Transducers, Levy's Leather - Straps & Gigbags, Beat Buddy - Drum Machines, Pandamidi - Future Impact Bass Synthesizer Pedal, Essential Sound Products - MusicCord, and Pigtronix Effect Pedals. He frequently travels to Anaheim, California and Nashville, Tennessee to perform for his many sponsors at the NAMM Show (National Association of Music Merchants) which is the world's largest music trade show in existence today. Robert Harper is also an active member of The Recording Academy and Owner/Operator of J.Productions Rehearsal Studio located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland. Currently Robert is the bassist for guitar phenom "Steve Leads" who heads the rock/funk band OTG (Off The Grid), and Robert also holds down the bass duties for the super exciting rock/hip-hop band "Area 301" out of Maryland. Mr.Harper's personal manager is his wife Aisha Harper who happens to be the cousin of legendary keyboardist, producer, arranger, and songwriter Wayne Linsey who has worked for (American Idol / Tonight show with Jay Leno / The Jacksons / Whitney Houston / Maze featuring Frankie Beverly) and practically all of the major televised music award shows and events.

Robert Harper currently resides in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Bassist Robert Harper will be performing with the band "AREA 301" at 5:45pm on the Horn Point Harbor Marina Stage!

Created as a way to expose local music to a larger audience, Eastport a Rockin’ has drawn attendees from throughout the neighborhood and across the region since 1997 and is known as the local music festival of the summer. Some 35 bands will perform, keeping local, original music a key component of Eastport a Rockin’. Up and coming local bands with a wide range of styles will display their talents alongside longtime favorites. Over the years, Eastport a Rockin’ has featured such bands as Good Charlotte and Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, and the next big act just might be in this year’s line-up. From rock to folk to roots to blues to jazz to bluegrass to funk, and even some Kindie rock, the breadth of music types found at the Festival is sure to please everyone who attends.

Rocktobierfest features two stages of entertainment, including German and rock music, German food, artisans, kids activities, and beverages for sale by local breweries. This annual event attracts more than 5,000 people to Rockville Town Center. The Off The Grid Rock/Funk band featuring Robert Harper will be one of the acts performing here at the Rocktobierfest.

Free parking is available throughout town center. Locations include the Council Office Building on Fleet Street, and the City Hall lot.

Paid parking is available in the Town Square Route 355 and North Washington Street garages for a flat rate of $5 *This is a free event.
